Dawn at the Don

Description: This event will take in sunrise over the Donmouth LNR before an exploration to see what the local wildlife is up to in the early hours. A Countryside Ranger will guide you to the best wildlife spots in the reserve so bring binoculars and a camera if you have them. Birds, seals and perhaps even an otter may be seen so you’ll be sure to catch a glimpse of something great!
Suitable for adults and older children.

Chalk Don’t Chalk is a participatory Public Art project where children and adults alike are given the ‚freedom of the city‚ to create their own chalk street art pieces, with participating Nuart artist Bortusk Leer and friends on hand to teach and guide children on their designs.
Chalk Don’t Chalk encourages the re-imagining and re-purposing of public space in a dynamic, participatory and creative manner. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Picasso to Banksy, Brancussi to Sir Ken Robinson, we hope that children and families will embrace the project wholeheartedly and join in with this celebration of street art in one of its purest forms.

Sunday Whittling

Description: Come and join us for a relaxing afternoon of whittling in the woods…
It won’t be a taught session (although sharing of ideas and expertise will be welcomed) – just an opportunity to sit around the fire, work on your own project and chat with like-minded people.
If you have your own tools, please bring them along. We do have a limited supply of sheath knives and folding saws – please let us know in advance if you would like to borrow any of these.
You may also wish to bring along something to sit on and hot drinks/snacks.
Everyone is welcome, although we would ask that children are accompanied (and supervised) by an adult.

Relaxed Trampoline Session

Photonics is the branch of physics that studies photons and the wide range of science and technology applications they are used in. These applications include oil and gas sensing, laser manufacturing, biological and chemical sensing.
STUFF WORTH KNOWING talks explore topics worth knowing about. Scheduled with convenience in mind, these talks are FREE and suitable for 16+ years in general.

Feel free to bring your stretchy wrap from the Scottish Baby Box as we’d love to give you a hand.
There will be trained baby carrying advice from Jess Hippey, owner of Close and Calm, and a large selection of carriers and wraps available for trying and for hiring. Should you wish to go on to buy a carrier after this, please inform Jess as discount codes are available for customers.
We will charge a £2 entry fee to cover room hire, insurance and professional fees. Children are always welcome.
We’re very lucky to also have a breastfeeding peer supporter present at most meetings.
We’re a friendly, welcoming bunch and look forward to meeting you. Our hope is to try and build an informative and supportive community so the more the merrier.
