Coastal Play

Description: Coastal Play is a children’s soft play area for children aged toddler to 10 (height restrictions will apply and take precedence over age).

 We provide a huge play area that includes 2 Bouncy Castles, one with slide, Soft Play Pods & Shapes, plus Bouncers, Inflatable Pitch and toddler area. It’s a great space for running around and letting off some steam – especially when the weather outside’s not so nice!

 Coastal Cafe provides a seating area where parents can see children at all times while enjoying a coffee and snack.

Macro Magic 

Organiser: Aberdeen City Council Countryside Ranger Service

Where: Den of Maidencraig Nature Reserve

 Date:  Saturday 29th February 2020 Time:  10:00 – 13:00

Description: Get up close and personal with minibeasts, plants and other micro inhabitants of the nature reserve.

Get up close and personal with minibeasts, plants and other micro inhabitants of the nature reserve. Learn or practise using the close-up macro settings on your camera or simply use your mobile phone, giving you a chance to see how these animals live and record their images.

This event is suited to adults and older children. Please bring a packed lunch and wear sturdy footwear and clothing suitable for the weather. And don’t forget a camera!

Places for each event will become bookable 2 months in advance. Please note a space must be booked for all attendees including parents. Most events are free to attend but donations to support the Countryside Ranger Service are appreciated. Please keep in mind that each 3-hour event costs us approximately £6 per participant to deliver.

NCT Nearly New Sale – Cults Academy

Description: It’s time for our Nearly New Sale.

Our friendly volunteers are on hand for advice and help during the sale, if you have a shopping list ask a volunteer to point you in the right direction.

We will lend you a shopping bag to collect your goodies in then we have a one stop checkout with chip and pin facilities, also a reclaim area where large bulky items can be purchased and safely left whilst you continue to shop.

Cosy jackets, snowsuits, boots, cots, toys, highchairs, walkers, puzzles, bouncy chairs, bikes, ride on’s, bumbo’s, stair gates, more toys, books, DVD’s, lego, play kitchens, computer games, curtains, lampshades, bedding, maternity equipment & clothing, dressing up clothes, play work stations, more toys, moses baskets, prams, slings, re-useable nappies, clothes carefully displayed from newborn up to approx 10 years, scooters, strollers, carriers, playmats, bouncy chairs, jumperoo’s, travel cots, kids furniture – all dependant on what our sellers decide to bring!

We can’t sell baby car seats or non PAT tested items that require a plug.

Our sales are 100% powered by volunteers and a % of the takings goes back into the NCT the UK’s largest parenting charity to support work locally and nationally.

Mother and Daughter Day

Description: We are hosting a Mother and Daughter event for ladies of all ages from 5-95! at Portlethen Academy on Saturday the 29th of February 2020.

At our event we shall have stalls selling beauty products and home wear. The event will showcase live entertainment from local school age pupils. There will be a prosecco bar with food and lots of sweet goodies! We will have Disney princesses doing face paints and glitter tattoos.

We hope that you are able to come along with your mother and/or daughter, best friends, auntie or neighbour, please don’t feel restricted!

Raising a Deaf Child Information Session

The Raising a Deaf Child course is an interactive and fun course for families with deaf children. The course provides information around supporting your deaf child within and outside of the home. Topics that are covered include: communicating with your deaf child, dealing with emotions, managing challenging behaviours, managing frustration, praise and engaging with wider family members.

Infant and Child First Aid awareness 

Organiser: Little Lives First Aid

Where: Ruthrieston Community Centre

Description: This 3 hour course specifically covers the age range birth to puberty. It is deal for Parents to be, Parents and Grandparents. A relaxed session with no test papers, but covers key subjects that we all worry about with children.Young babies are welcome to attend too.

The course is delivered by Fran – a Paramedic with 16 years experience and Mum of 2!

The cost is £30pp, or £25pp if a couple from same household. This includes refreshments, a certificate of attendance, a memory jogger and a first aid manual – perfect for refresher purposes.

We are on the look out for items to sell. 25% of all items sold will go to Kennethmont Toddlers fundraising (charity number: SC015752). The remaining will be returned to the seller. Each seller will be allocated a seller number and must clearly label each item for sale with this seller number and price. Bundled items must be securely grouped together preferably in a sandwich bag. Donated items are also welcome – 100% of the cost of these items will be donated to Kennethmont Toddlers. The Jungle Book

Baby Massage and Movement Class

Description: Massage and Movement classes  incorporate movement, music and rhyme as well as sensory play activities. along side massage and yoga.

You do not need any previous experience of baby massage, but it is an ideal follow-on to a baby massage course.

Relaxed Soft Play at Smugglers Cove with We Too!

Description: Codonas are holding a relaxed session in Smugglers Cove  from 5.00pm – 7.00pm for Children with additional support needs in association with We Too!

Everyone is welcome to attend a relaxed session but will be informed of the session they are participating in so please do feel free to take along siblings and friends.

Should children be over the height restriction, there is a “feet on the floor policy” which means they cannot access the play frame area for Health & Safety.  However they are welcome into Smugglers Street and the other facilities.

Normal admission prices apply. The Smugglers Cove family restaurant will be open as usual for meals, drinks and snacks.
