Description: Join us for our last open day of the year, in conjunction with the Open Doors Aberdeenshire programme. There will be four guided tours on the day, 10am, 11am, 1pm and 2pm.
The ‘Steamin-a-heid ‘ mobile bean to cup coffee team will be there serving coffee, tea, hot chocolate and ice=cream, pupils from Ellon Academy will be providing music the quiz will be for younger children this time! Again – feel free to bring your picnic basket and stay for a while!

Deeside Local Food Festival 2016

Description: For the second year running this one-day festival, to celebrate local food, is being held at Cults Academy.
At the heart of the event will be a produce market with over 30 stalls, where visitors can enjoy meeting a wide selection of local food producers and sampling their creations. There will be lots of tasty options for lunch and due to demand this area has been extended this year.
We’ll have lots of fun foodie activities to entertain the kids including crafts, quizzes, competitions, games, balloon modelling and face painting. They can make their own drink using pedal power on our smoothie bike, decorate cupcakes with Felicity’s Chocolate, join Hamlyn’s Oaty workshop, create a ‘Foodscape’ with our art project or relax with a tasty book in our reading corner. There will also be football, hockey and tennis outside for the more energetic.

Mess Around Aberdeen Big Birthday Bash

Little Explorer Day: Sound

Description: What makes sound? How do we hear? On Little Explorer Day we’ll explore how vibrations work to make sound in instruments, using hands-on craft and learning through play.
Join us on the floor for more fun with sound as we make (rudimentary) phones and communicate by picking up good vibrations. Little Explorer Days offer fun, hands-on science based activities that encourage learning through play and are suited for little scientists aged 3-5 years.
Each Little Explorer Day workshop lasts approximately 30 minutes and is supported by related activity tables on the Exhibition Floor.
