S and I popped to a couple of shops to run some errands whilst Daddy was working in the morning. Late afternoon we headed to Union Terrace gardens to check out the Aberdeen Mela-One World Day event. S loved looking around and having a wee dance to the music.
We also headed up to the arches in the gardens to take a proper look of the street art and the refurbished draughts set. How amazing is this mural of Emeli Sande?!
The evening was a chilled family night in with pizzas and a movie. Something we hadn’t done in a while as Daddy had been working the later shift the last few weekends. We discovered S loved Chicken Run – so much so it distracted him from his pizza, which is unheard of!
And I’m sure you can guess who’s pizza is who’s!
Sunday 18th September 2016
We headed to the Deeside Local Food Festival which was held at Cults Academy. There were lots of local food businesses there with their stalls and also a food court area outside where you could pick up a bite to eat for lunch.
Our first stop was Steamin-a-heid to pick up a much needed coffee for Mummy!
We came across these gorgeous cupcakes from Little Kitchen Cakes, so naturally I had to get a vanilla one to take home!
I also picked up these yummy triple chocolate cookies from From Bakery Lane. I originally had my eye on the Raspberry & White Chocolate cookies but by the time I went back to purchase them they had sold out – but these chocolate cookies did not disappoint!
After a look around the stalls inside we popped down to the food court to pick out what we were going to have for lunch.
It was a tough choice with so much on offer but for me it had to be chicken and chips from The Bay Fish & Chips on the road van.
Which of course had to be shared with this little one and Igglepiggle!
Daddy spotted the Tattie Scone Wrap from Scoff and that was his decision made. He opted for the wrap with Stornoway black pudding, spinach and berry gravy, and was definitely converted!
After lunch Daddy headed off to work then me and S headed to a friends house to catch up with some of the mums and toddlers from our anti natal group.
I’m so glad we met such lovely group of mums just over two years ago when we attended the anti natal classes and I can’t believe our little ones are turning 2!
So that was our weekend, did you get up to much?
Why not let us know in the comments below or over on one of our social media channels, we’d love to here what you’ve been up too!
