Sessions Beer & Gin Festival 2018 – Family Fun Day on Sunday

Ready to rock the city again this summer, the three-day gathering will take place again at Hazlehead Park on Friday 3rd, Saturday 4th and a Family Fun Day on Sunday the 5th of August. A host of live music acts including Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Carpets are set to return along with leading ‘street food’ vendors.

Kids Club Arts and Crafts!! // Bonobo Cafe with Bee Struthers

Description: We are working together with Bee Struthers Fine Art to introduce a more refined, and different children’s art class for children between the ages of 5 and 12 to get involved with this summer!

Each class will entail a different project and they are as follows:

Monday 6th of August: Hapa Zome Wall Hanging. This is a traditional Japanese leaf hammering technique used to create unique wall hangings.

Monday 13th of August: Torn Paper Collage Animals. Using images for reference, magazines will be torn up and glued together to create an animal of choice on card.

Monday 20th of August: Fruit and Veg Printing. Using cut up different pieces of fruit and veg dipped in paint, large paintings will be created using the method of printing.

All of these classes are incredibly interactive and produce large pieces of work to take home at the end, and are suitable for the ages of 5-12 years old.

Rebecca from Bee Struthers Fine Art will be holding all the workshops and is completely PVG certified. However we do ask that parents remain on the premises while the class is underway, there will be teas, coffees, and cakes available to purchase from the cafe. Then, the cafe itself will be open from 12pm with our full lunch menu.

There is the ever popular beer tent, a variety of fast food and trade stalls as well as a funfair for the children

Mischief Makers Summer Reading Challenge at Cults Library

Description: Join us for a Summer Reading Challenge themed story and craft session

Age 4-12 Years

Take part in the Tesco Bank Summer Reading Challenge Scotland during the holidays. This year we’ll celebrate 80 years of The Beano with children following clues to explore Beanotown, meeting old favourites including Dennis and Gnasher and helping them find mysterious buried treasure!

Read books from any Aberdeen City Library and receive rewards along the way throughout the holidays. Join in the fun at one of these special events for children taking part in the Challenge.

The Challenge is suitable for children aged 4-12. Children under 4 can take part in a mini Challenge and collect a special Bookbug medal and certificate.

Big Bounce will run between 10am and 6pm each day and all money raised goes @Onegreatday which supports TheArchieFoundation and Great Ormond Street Hospital
