Weekly Meal Plan

1

Since A will no longer be home for dinner on Sunday’s & Wednesday’s due to work we’ve re-organised our usual meal plan.

This week our meal plan is:

Monday – Chicken fajitas

Tuesday – Chilli & sweet potato (not sure for S yet)

Wednesday – Sausages, mash & veg

Thursday – Bolognese & wholewheat penne (Bolognese already made & in the freezer ?)

Friday – Creamy tomato pasta bake & garlic bread

Saturday – Pizza night

Sunday – will depend on what we pick up during the food shop that morning!

Sunday food prep – Bolognese made & in the freezer = weeknight time saver!

My weekday lunches are BBQ chicken salad for Monday to Wednesday, which I make up on a Sunday nigh, then I will make Butternut Squash soup on Wednesday night to do the rest of the week!

Sundays mean a trip to Aldi for our food shop so I thought I would share our weekly meal plan, usually we stick to a similar menu week on week with slight tweaks for S, although most of his ends up on the floor at the moment as he’s not a great eater! (the weekday lunches are what I will have at work)

Dinner – Cheesy tomato pasta bake with garlic bread

Monday

Dinner – Chicken Fajitas (Chicken without the fajita mix, peppers &  a wrap for S)

Tuesday

Lunch – Chicken Salad

Dinner – Chicken, sweet potato & broccoli

Wednesday

Lunch – Chicken Salad

Dinner – Chilli & sweet potato (Sausages, carrot & potato waffles and broccoli for S)

Thursday

Lunch – Butternut Squash Soup

Dinner – wholewheat penne pasta with chopped tomatoes, herbs and sliced ham

Friday

Lunch – Butternut Squash Soup

Dinner – Bolognese with penne pasta

Saturday

Lunch – depends on what we have left, probably butternut squash soup

Dinner – family pizza night!

Saturday Morning Cinebabies

0

Having a baby doesn’t mean you need to miss out on the latest cinema releases.

Our weekend routine usually starts with a trip to our local Cineworld cinema on a Saturday morning to go to the Cinebabies screening. Last Saturday we saw ‘The Finest Hours’, which I would thoroughly recommend!

The Finest Hours

Cinebabies showings are special screenings for parents and babies where you do not feel pressured to keep them quiet as everyone is in the same boat.

Having had a Cineworld card for nearly 3 years, I thought having a baby would put an end to our cinema trips, but after taking Stuart along for the first time at 3 months old, to see Taken 3, I wish we had taken him sooner!

Now we try and go most Saturday mornings, no matter what film is showing to make the most of our Cineworld cards which has meant we have seen loads of films we probably wouldn’t have normally gone to have seen but have ended up loving them! I think we were the only ones in the screen for ‘Ricki and the Flash’ and ‘The Duff’ which we both enjoyed.

Although I have to say it was a lot easier to take him when he would just end up falling asleep in my arms than now when he won’t sit still for more than 5 minutes and I spend quite a bit of time sitting on the floor or crawling around after him!

Zoolander 2

So if you are thinking that going to the cinema with a baby is hard work, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how easy it is (before they can start moving about!) so I urge to see if your local cinema has any baby friendly screenings!

I decided to create this blog as a bit of a ‘me time’ project to document our life together as we grow as a family and my general thought on life!

Any newbie blogger tips and advice are welcome, and hopefully you like my blog as it grows!

Feel free to check me out on Twitter, Pinterest & Instagram.
