Our Weekend in Photos (7-8th May)

We had a quiet weekend this week, mainly due to lack of sleep and energy as S had been up quite a bit on Friday and Saturday night (lots of coffee required for mummy!)

Our weekend involved:

  • Building towers
  • Attempting egg muffins, which S wasn’t keen on but will keep offering them for him to try.
  • Trip through the car wash which was a new experience for S and was a bit confused as to what was going on.
  • Discovering the power of Paw Patrol on Netflix.
  • Baking & icing cupcakes for a friend’s surprise baby shower
  • Me & S catching up with the anti natal girls and their toddlers

May 2016 Goals

0

My goals for April were:

  • Drink more water – I have been getting better at this and do find it helps reduce my headaches
  • Complete an April Photo Challenge – failed this after day 10 so currently taking part in Fat Mum Slim’s May photo challenge
  • Read More – I have managed to get more reading done starting and finishing Shopaholic & Sister. See my reading list here.
  • Blog More – I am currently working on this and have a few posts lined up
  • Write up a list of 35 things to do before I’m 35 – my post on this should be live within the next week & will link up when posted

My goals for May are:

Evening Routine

To be more organised for the next day and to try to improve my sleep I am going to work on a better evening routine, including not using my phone after 10pm in favour of reading to help wind down before bed.

Play Area for S

Currently his stuff is spread out all over the living room. I am working on re-arranging our living room so he has more of a play area which all his toys etc can be organised into.

Blogging Schedule

Furthering on from April’s goal to blog more, I am going to work on a blogging schedule so I can fit some time into my week to get blog related things done. I do love an organised diary, you should see my colour coded calendar in Outlook!

Healthy Eating

During April this has slipped and I’m the kind of person who needs something to follow or stick to or it all goes wrong so on Monday 25th April I started following Slimming World Online after finding a discount code. I am going use this to improve my eating habits and to cook more meals from scratch. You can follow progress on my separate food diary Instagram page @chelle_259sw

Our Weekend in Photos (30-2 May)

This was our May Day long weekend in photos, 30th April – 2nd May 2016…

Saturday:

  • Quiet Saturday morning building towers
  • Football trip for Mummy (Aberdeen won 4-1 against Motherwell)
  • Usual chilled Saturday night in with my boys

Sunday:

  • Me & S met a friend for a catch up and breakfast at Harvesters
  • S cheered on his Uncle’s American Football team, Aberdeen Roughnecks against Carlisle Sentinels (Result: 26-0)
  • We then headed to Scallywags Soft Play for a play date with S & J from our Anti Natal class. It was the first time we had been there and we loved it. S love adventuring through the soft play frame, and they have coffee which always makes me happy!
  • In the evening I went to see Captain America: Civil War with a friend, which was the first time I have been to the cinema without S since he was born! I actually got to sit in the seat for the whole film!

Monday:

  • This was the first day since Daddy started working weekends that we have both had a day off together so was nice to spend the day as a family.
  • We took a walk into town and I tried out a back carry with the Harris Tweed Toddler Connecta which I currently have out on hire from It’s a Sling Thing
  • For lunch we visited the Sand Dollar Cafe down Aberdeen beach front, although we did have to wait a while for our food the meal was good. Although S despite liking both bread and ham wouldn’t eat them together as a sandwich so I had to pull the sandwich apart for him to eat it!
  • After lunch we headed to Aberdeen Science Centre (formally known as Satrosphere) S’ favourite part was the light beams which when broken made a musical sound. I don’t think he realised they did this but enjoyed going round in a circle stamping his feet on the coloured circles!
