And the support doesn’t end there – join the Solasta Mamas Facebook group to connect with other local mums, and share the trials, tribulations and triumphs of life with a tiny human, without having to move off the sofa – click here http://www.facebook.com/groups/solastamamameetups

Friday Favourites | Things to do with my 3 year old in Aberdeen City & Shire
I thought this week I would share 5 of my favourite things to do out and about in Aberdeen City & Shire with S.
Visit the winter gardens at Duthie park
S loves the Winter Gardens and could quite happily spend a good hour or so going around them showing you were everything is. The fish are usually first on his list to go to and say hi! Usually we also end up down at the play park with the wooden frames down near riverside drive or going for a walk round the park with S attempting to ride his scooter or bike (or rather pushing him on one of them!)
Visiting the grounds of National Trust for Scotland Properties
Crathes Castle and Drum Castle are relatively short drives from where we live and I loved exploring the gardens last year. We’ve been to a couple other properties but hoping to see more during the year as we have a family membership which is only £7.50 per month – a huge saving on the entry prices of the properties and even the price of parking if you go regularly.
Parent & Toddler Ice Skating Sessions
We discovered this a couple of months ago, the session run on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We have gone a few time on my Thursday’s off and it has been great fun each time we have went. Plus S is becoming more confident at trying new things on the ice rather than just heading for the cosy coupe each time! It’s a great way of getting them introduced to ice skating and we both enjoy it.
Pets Corner at Hazlehead Park
We bought an annual family pass for Pets Corner which was £30. S loves seeing animals, especially watching fish swim around so he always enjoys a visit here. We usually follow our visit with a trip to the café for coffee & babychino’s, usually with a wee treat or a spot of lunch.
Soft Play and/or Trampolining
S loves soft play and now he’s at an age where he can go off exploring without necessarily needing a hand from mum or dad, although he does sometimes still make us crawl through it with him. We’ve been to quite a few soft plays near us and he likes them all & they all serve coffee so it’s a win win situation! I do tend to only go to soft play when it is the quieter time, such as on any days off I have during the week or first thing at weekends.
What are your favourite thing to do with your wee one in Aberdeen City & Shire?
We’re always looking for new adventures in the area, let us know in the comments below or over on Facebook what you like to do with your wee one?

Each month I am going to set myself 5 goals, they may be personal, blog or fitness related but I’m hoping doing this will help me get back on track with things after December and January.
1. Aiming to post 2 – 3 blog posts per week.
2. Learn how to use more of the features on my camera and take more photos with S at weekends.
3. Get back on track with healthy eating and structured workouts – so the jeans fit better as they are still a little tight after the festive period! I love the gym but also food especially chocolate. So it’s back to tracking food on myfitnesspal, workouts through my Fitbit and using my food & fitness instagram to create some accountability.
4. Attempt a Vlog over on my YouTube Channel where I’m speaking more to the camera – or at least work on building up to this with Instagram stories as a starting point (You can find us over on instagram here.)
5. Read a complete book – something I have not done is forever but I’m going to make myself read on my Kindle before bed instead of scrolling through my phone. Also hoping this helps with getting better sleep, plus I signed up to Kindle Unlimited on a deal where you get 3 months for £1.99 so I want to make the most of it!
For February I have decided I’m going to start sharing some of my favourite things in a Friday post, if all goes well and I have more to share then it may become a regular feature on my blog.
Instagram Stories
I *may* be a bit of an instagram addict – I would say it’s my favourite social media site, close with Facebook. There are a few people who’s stories I make a point of checking out regularly and I thought I would share who’s stories I have been loving recently.
Sarah is someone I have followed on Instagram for a couple of years since discovering her blog and YouTube channel over 2 years ago – and she’s originally from Aberdeen!
I find her one of the most relatable people on Instagram and find her an inspiration – she has a fab blog, YouTube channel and Instagram page whilst also working and raising two little ones.
She is always very honest and doesn’t just share the ‘perfect’ moments – especially when her husband Robert is away on deployment with the Navy. Her husband Robert can also be found on Instagram at @thisdadalife
I discovered Nyomi a couple of months ago and love watching her stories – she has such a lovely accent! She’s also another very relatable working mum of two and blogger.
She recently introduced her partner to the world of Instagram Stories and they are both hilarious! He can be found at @papagingeuk. I think they need to do more Instagram Lives together – I loved the random one the other week battling for viewers whist they were both live streaming.
Courtney is a straight talking personal trainer based in London. She gives sound advice and doesn’t follow the trends but instead tells you like it is.
Her personal training studio looks amazing as does all her fitness gear and food! Her training stories are great for extra inspiration. Her stories of the classes she goes to makes me wish I lived in London as there seems so much more on offer down their gym/fitness and healthy food (eating out) wise.
Anna is a psychotherapist and a mum of two. She gives an honest insight into mum life and has lots great posts on her instagram feed based around her knowledge as a psychotherapist.
Anna is also one of the creators of Blom Cards, which are psychologically-grounded insights & challenges to help you bloom. I have a set myself and they are great for practicing some self-care.
Her stories usually consist of her workouts in her home gym, and these are great for gaining ideas on what to do in the gym and what exercises to group together. Her overall attitude to working out, eating healthily and life in general come across in such as positive, motivating and upbeat way.
Her profile is set to private so I hope she doesn’t mind me including her in this post.
Who do you watch on Instagram?
Do let me know who you love watching on instagram in the comments below or over on facebook – I love finding new people to follow!
